I just found this and had to share!!!!

A while back, I related the story about how a future President was credited with saving the day in a Civil War (is there anything civil about war?) battle with his timely delivery of hot coffee to the Union troops during the lull in a battle.  William McKinley, 25th President of the United States, used the incident to help his campaign during his run.

Well, while perusing the interwebs I cam across a reference to a memorial and had to check it out.  Located in Sharpsburg Maryland, on the Antietim battle field, is a monument to none other than, you guessed it, coffee boy extraordinaire....William McKinley!!!

I found my next road trip!!!

Random Thoughts.....

Me in a few years....spreading the word to the faithful!!

Reminds me of home in Southwest Kansas

The office if I owned a business

The hope is there but it seems further and further away these days....

This is SOOOOO Marine Corps!!!

If this isn't as close to the truth as it comes, I do not know what is.  My wife constantly asks me how old I am and I reply "12".   The same things I found funny at 12 I find hilarious at 57!!

Truth by Glenn Danzig

How many times have you taken the short cut and deposited the shopping cart you used to carry your purchases in an unused parking spot or on the median in the parking lot because the stall was "too far away" or you were in a hurry?  I have done it, you have too.  I will be damned if I do it again.

Su's Subs Fayetteville NC

Su's Subs in Fayetteville NC....has probably the best damn sub I have ever eaten in my life.  They make a Beef Bulgogi sub that is quite honestly delicious.  It is probably yhe only reason i would ever go there again (maybe to see a KC Royals minor league team play the Fayetteville Woodpeckers but that is about it).  If you are traveling on I-95 through North Carolina and find yourself close to Fayetteville, look this place up on the smart mobile telecommunications device......you will not be disappointed!!!

Feel Horrible

I was sitting in my office doing the work at home thing when the wife calls from downstairs if I had my BB gun handy.  She said the squirrel was back ravaging the bird feeder.  I went into the garage and grabbed the pump gun instead of the "gentle" Red Ryder Daisy gun I typically use.  I pumped it up, aimed out the door, and fired.  I aimed for his butt but hit the squirrel mid back...paralyzing his back legs.  I immediately felt very guilty for wounding the animal and went outside to finish it off humanely.   The squirrel drug himself to the fence, climbed it, and got away before I could take care of it.  I feel horrible.  The little guy just wanted some food.  I wounded him, grievously, and now he is out hurt.  If I had killed it outright I do not think I would have felt like I do, but I wounded it and now it suffers.   Damn I feel horrible about it.
